SIMON SESSLER- A Short Biography

Simon is a musician/songwriter/producer, who's career started as a lead singer, through punk bands, in the late '70's, progressing into many rock bands, in both the UK and USA, where for a while he was represented by the legendary Bill Graham, throughout the '80's.

Over the years, he has written and worked with both the good, the great...and the not so great, most recently concentrating on scoring music for television, worldwide, as well as songwriting and producing for various artists.

He is also credited in the KEITH RICHARDS autobiography, "Life". He scored the music for the movie "SHIT HAPPENS", with JO BURT (Tom Robinson/Freddie Mercury/Black Sabbath), and spent much of his time writing and recording in both Europe and L.A.

There was also the small matter of the Golden Jubilee Concert, in Hyde Park, where 500,000 people (that's as far as you can see, for those who care!) attended. He played with Australian star, SALLY BOYDEN.

Since then he has worked mostly, in scoring movies and television.

He is the Music Supervisor, for Hothouse Productions and for WORLD CUP SKIING on Channel 4 and EUROSPORT, with CHRIS KIMSEY (Rolling Stones, Frampton, Marillion etc) PAUL MOESSL (Cliff Richard) and ANT CLARK (Belinda Carlisle/Nick Heywood/Cliff Richard Louise Setara).

There will also be another "Carlsberg High 5" event in Verbier and a 10th Anniversary DVD.

His music has now been commissioned by CCTV in China, SBSi TV, in Korea, TVB and CELESTIAL TV, in Hong Kong, and 7 NETWORK and NETWORK 10 in Australia.

He finds the time to tour such artists as the legendary TERRY REID (now there's a job!) when he is in the UK, and can often be found complaining about performing at the GLASTONBURY festival, which seems, more often than not, to be on the itinerary.

He worked with MICK TAYLOR, on the MT & FRIENDS show (which was sadly MITCH MITCHELL'S last UK gig). A 'SESSLER and a ROLLING STONE'...not for the first nor, I suspect, the last time (sorry!) and the equally legendary CHRIS SPEDDING. He show managed  EMERSON, KIRKE, SQUIRE & WHITE,  when they opened the Ahmet Ertegan Tribute Concert, at Lodon's O2 Arena, which saw the one off reformation for LED ZEPPELIN.

Simon has also written several songs for household names, including an American Idol star TOM LOWE and has recently worked with members of DIRE STRAITS, ROD STEWART, JOHNNY HALLIDAY, LIVING IN A BOX, MOKE, HONEY RYDER, JAQUES VILLENEUVE and THE QUIREBOYS, and legendary Russian blues guitarist, SERGEI VORON, to name but a few.

Simon co-wrote "The Man You Always Wanted Me To Be" with CHRIS SQUIRE,for the YES' 2011, "FLY FROM HERE" album. Followed by the CHRIS SQUIRE & STEVE HACKETT collaboration SQUACKETT, with whom he co wrote the track "Can't Stop The Rain", for the debut album "A LIFE WITHIN A DAY"

In early 2013, the song "Fly", written with John Hogg and Debbie Bonham, was released, from the new DEBORAH BONHAM BAND album "Spirit". He was then commissioned to provide the soundtrack for the innovative March/April window displays, at HARVEY NICHOLS, the world famous department store, in Knightsbridge, London.

He has just completed work on the soon to be released television documentary, that charts the progress of his old friend BRIAN JOHNSON, singer with AC/DC, whilst motor racing at Daytona, in the HRT Series.
